Setright is a course about money, so we take care with yours and with what you tell us. This page says, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
When you open the chat, we create an anonymous account for your browser so Luke can remember where you left off. It has no name or email attached until you choose to give one.
As you learn, we keep what you tell Luke: your first name and age range if you share them, the answers you give, the sessions you finish, and the facts you mention that help Luke teach you well, such as whether your job offers a retirement plan.
If you ask us to save your progress, you type a code we email you. Only after that code is verified do we store your email address.
What we use it for
Everything we keep is used to run the course for you and to make Setright better.
- To pick up your conversation on this device or another one.
- To adapt lessons to what you already know.
- To send a short reminder when a session is waiting, if you have saved your progress and not turned reminders off.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages people read and where they start the course.
What we never do
We never sell, rent, or share what you tell us with anyone for marketing or any other commercial purpose. If Setright is ever paid when a learner opens an account with an investment company we recommend, that is a link or a code, never a hand-off of your information, and we will say so on the page.
We never ask for or store card numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or bank account numbers. Luke will not ask, and you should not type them.
Analytics
When it is turned on, we use Google Analytics to count page views and a few kinds of events: starting, finishing the first questions, saving progress, verifying an email code, opening an article, choosing where to open an account, and reaching the chat limit. These events carry no names, emails, message text, or money amounts.
Cookies
The chat sets a cookie that holds your anonymous session, and a small cookie that remembers you have started the course so the front page can send you straight back to Luke. Your text-size and font choices live only in your browser. Analytics, when on, sets its own cookies.
Who else handles your data
We use a few services to run Setright. Each one only sees what it needs to do its job.
- Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in codes.
- Google Gemini generates Luke's replies from your conversation.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Google Analytics, when it is turned on, counts visits.
Keeping and deleting
You can delete any fact Luke has remembered from your profile panel in the chat. To delete your account and everything with it, email us and we will remove it. Anonymous accounts that never start the course are cleaned up over time.
Children
Setright is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
