Setright
Terms of use
Last updated
These terms of use are an agreement between you and Alpha Madera LLC ("Setright", "we", "us", or "our"), which operates Setright. By visiting, accessing, or using Setright, you agree to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Setright.
Who can use Setright
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use Setright. By using the service, you confirm that you have the legal right and capacity to agree to these terms.
Education, not financial advice
Setright is an educational course. Everything Luke says, and everything on this site, is general education about how saving and investing work. It is not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell any security or financial product.
Setright is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and owes you no fiduciary duty under federal or state law. Using Setright does not create an adviser-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship. Your financial situation is unique; before making financial decisions, you should speak with a qualified, licensed professional.
Risks and no guarantee of outcomes
All investing involves risk, including the loss of the money you put in. Nothing here promises a return, profit, specific result, or a comfortable retirement. What we teach is general education; how your finances turn out depends on market swings, personal choices, and events outside anyone's control. Past results never guarantee future performance.
Luke is an AI guide
Luke is an automated artificial intelligence guide powered by machine learning. He teaches a curriculum written and reviewed by people, but his replies are generated in real time and are not reviewed by human professionals before you see them.
Luke tries hard to be accurate, but he can be wrong, hallucinate details, be out of date, or be unclear. You agree that you use and rely on Luke at your own risk, and that you will verify any important rule, limit, or figure with primary sources or a licensed professional before acting on it.
Using Setright
You may use Setright for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You agree not to:
- Try to break, probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the course or extract data.
- Use Setright to harass anyone, break any law, or post harmful content.
- Copy, scrape, resell, or distribute our course or content without our written consent.
- Type in card numbers, government ID numbers, passwords, or bank account credentials. We never want them and Luke will never ask for them.
Your account, email, and content
Your progress starts in an anonymous session tied to your browser. If you choose to save your progress, you verify an email address with a single-use code we send. You are responsible for keeping access to that address. We may send you short reminders when a session is waiting; every reminder includes a one-click link to stop them.
You keep ownership of the messages, answers, and information you share with Luke. You grant us permission to host, store, transmit, and process your inputs solely to run the course and provide the service to you, including through our service providers like Google and Supabase. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve Setright without paying you or owing any obligation.
How Setright makes money
The course is free. Setright points learners toward well-known, low-cost investment companies. In the future, Setright may receive a referral fee or partner payment when a learner chooses to open an account through one of our links. Whenever that is the case, we will say so clearly on the page where the link appears. Educational recommendations come first and do not change to suit a partner.
Our content and trademarks
The course, articles, text, software, images, and the Setright name and logo belong to Setright and Alpha Madera LLC, protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may read and share links freely, but you may not copy, republish, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
Setright is provided 'as is' and 'as available,' without warranties of any kind, either express, statutory, or implied. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Setright and Alpha Madera LLC disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not promise that Setright will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free from harmful components, or that any errors will be corrected.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Setright, Alpha Madera LLC, and its managers, members, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, profits, savings, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use Setright, Luke, or our materials.
In no event will our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these terms or Setright exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Setright, Alpha Madera LLC, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of Setright, your inputs, or your breach of these terms.
Disputes, arbitration, and class action waiver
Please contact us first at legal@setright.co if you have a dispute. We want to work it out informally and directly with you.
If we cannot resolve a dispute within thirty days, any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these terms or Setright will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Either you or we may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court if the claim qualifies.
You and Setright agree that any dispute will be brought only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding. You and Setright expressly waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in a class action.
Governing law and general terms
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without giving effect to conflict-of-law principles. To the extent any court proceeding is allowed under these terms, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest of these terms will remain in full force and effect. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Setright.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top. Your continued use of Setright after any update means you accept the revised terms.
